The mission of the Hoonah Police Department is to provide the highest quality of polic services to the community 24 hours a day, every day of the year. All PD personnel, sworn and civilian, will conduct themselves accordingly at all times.
HPD personnel will accomplish this goal by practicing community-oriented policing. The highest standards of honesty, dedication and professionalism will be always followed.

We recognize the rich Tlingit heritage of our community and respect the diverse population of this region. We also acknowledge that serving the community as a police officer or employee is a privilege, not a right and we appreciate the opportunity to serve.
