Update Jan 2005

The Trumann Police department recently built a new firing range and it is dedicated to the late Chief Corky Richardson. The department also built a new 1200 sq. ft. training facility that will be a great benefit to our officers, the training room has a large class room, 2 restrooms, lobby, office and storage room. (look for pics later on page) Officer Gary Swift has just started his Academy Training at Black River College, he has proven to be a great asset to the departemnt and we all support him during the time he will be spending away from his family. The department is adding a new position to the force soon, the city council agreed to let me add to the personnel. I hope to have the additional officer in place by feb. 05.

We have added new equipment, all 23 officers including the part-time recieved new Glock .40 handguns, we also purchased new AR-15, M-4's along with new police 12 guage riot shotguns.
I am trying to raise funds to start a tactical team for extreme situations, such as search warrant executions and special circumstances that may arise that the team could utilize thier special training.
