Special Update!

On the very day that the April 2004 update was placed on this page that very night Police Corky Richardson passed away from a heart attack. The chief had just started a weekend fishing trip at Midway and while placing trot lines he began having problems with his breathing. His brother Jack called for an ambulance and the Chief was taken to Crittenden Memorial Hospitial in West Memphis. He arrived at the hospital around 9pm and passed away before 11pm that same evening. The Chief was loved by all of us at the police department and he will be missed.

To Chief Corky Richardson,
I told you several times that I appreciate you and everything that you have done for me, but I didn'y get to tell you how close a friendship that we have developed in the past few years. I think of you as a personal part of my family. My wife and son thought so very much of you. I am so sorry that you are gone and I wish that I could hear you say just one more time " How's the captain this morning" as you were reaching to shake my hand. Chief I truly am going to miss you and all of your wisdom. See ya Boss
