At an elevation of 7,000 feet, Eagar lies at the base of the
White Mountains in eastern Arizona. Today, natural resources are
still a part of the community's industries. Two power plants and
the timber-related industry form a substantial portion of the town's
employment base, while ranching, retail, and industries in support
of the popular tourist trade help to diversify the town's economy.
Eagar is located between Phoenix, Arizona (about 250 miles northeast)
Flagstaff, Arizona (about 180 miles southeast) and Albuquerque,
New Mexico (about 250 southwest). Show Low, Arizona is about 50
miles to the west. This is an ideal position for the outdoor
enthusiast as there are numerous opportunities for fishing,
hiking, hunting, camping, skiing, 4-wheeling, ATV trail riding
and much more. Eagar's population is over 4,500 and it is an
excellent community to raise a family. Eagar residents enjoy a
lower cost of living and the range of all four seasons.
