The Cahto Tribal Police Department was created in 2001. The department is
funded via United States Department Of Justice grant monies.
The Cahto Tribal
Police Department patrols and responds to calls for service on the
Laytonville Rancheria located in Laytonville California. The department also
shares concurrent jurisdiction with Mendocino County Sheriffs' Office and
California Highway Patrol. The Rancheria consists of 240 acres of Federal
Trust land.
Currently the department has a Chief of Police, one full time
Police Officer and one Reserve Police Officer.
