The Winterville Police Department is in the process of selecting a new CHIEF of POLICE. The city has received more than 20 qualified applicants interested in the position. The majority of applicants have at a minimum, a Masters Degree, Command College and FBI National Academy. The Mayor and Council have set March 1st, 2006 as the appointment date.
