It is the mission of the Town of Cohutta Police Department to provide
the highest quality of police services to the citizens and visitors
of our community. It is our responsibility to insure that the
people we serve can feel safe in their homes, at their places of
employment, in our schools and wherever they may travel within
the incorporated limits of the Town of Cohutta. We as the Town
of Cohutta Police Department vow to uphold all city, county,
state and federal laws to the highest standards possible to
keep our community safe in the 21st Century and beyond.
Each year the Cohutta Police Department partners with other law enforcement
agencies within the State of Georgia and surrounding states concentrate on
impaired (DUI) driving and other violations of state law. During the most recent fiscal
year and into the current year, the Cohutta Police Deparment along with the MATEN
(Mountain Area Traffic Enforcement Network - MATEN2) of the Georgia Govenor's
Office of Highway Safety took part in reporting our departments crime and
traffic citation statistics to the State of Georgia.
The Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety encourages all
law enforcement agencies in the State to take part in this
program to make our roadways and communities safer for the
