The Charlestown Police Department serves the City of Charlestown, Indiana, located approximately ten miles northeast of Louisville, Kentucky. The department is comprised of 13 full time officers, including the Chief, Detective and School Resource Officer, and up to 15 Reserve Officers. The department's recent focus has been on increasing community policing efforts and making advancements in opening lines of communication and involvement with community citizens.
