July 2, 2013
St. Cloud, MN - GeoComm is excited to exhibit at the 2013 Esri International User Conference being held July 8-12
in San Diego, California. We look forward to visiting with you about the latest industry developments with
GIS for Public Safety, at our booth number N727 in the National Security Showcase area where we will
demonstrate GeoLynx Server which seamlessly connects Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs),
responding agencies, and field responders.
In addition to our many booth activities, GeoComm's Kathy Liljequist, GISP, is scheduled to present at two
breakout sessions. Kathy has a key role in several NENA work groups; she is currently a member of the
GIS workgroup and a past member of the data sync guidelines workgroup.
During her first presentation, Kathy will be presenting on spatial solutions for 9-1-1 data and the significant steps
the State of North Dakota took to prepare their GIS data for NG9-1-1 systems, the unique approach they took
to completing the project and the lessons they learned while completing it. She will also be contributing
to a presentation led by an official from the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG)
on Next Generation Emergency Call Taking and Handling. This presentation will feature tips and ideas
based on NCTCOG's experience in creating and maintaining GIS data for use in a National Emergency
Number Association (NENA) i3 NG9-1-1 system and their methodologies and processes for reporting
and improving the accuracy of their GIS data.
