The West New York Police Dept is located directly across the Hudson River from NYC. We are less then one square mile with approximately 50,000 population. We have 125 officers on the Department. The town was incorporated in 1898 and the main industry was embroidery factories. Since then most of the industry has moved out. We have a very diverse population from welfare and low income to the new waterfront area where the more wealthy have taken up residence. We are only minutes from NYC and with the new light rail system or ferry service you can be in the City in a flash with out worry of traffic tie ups.
