The Village of Ostrander was founded in 1852, it was incorporated in 1875. It is located in Southwestern Delaware County, Ohio the village is on the edge of exploding with new homes and businesses while struggling to maintain it's peaceful "little town" feel.

The village has a Mayor and 6 member village council form of government. The village council meets once per month: First Monday of the month at 7:00pm, except for July & September, 2nd Monday at the Jacob C. Ostrander Community Center P.O. Box 35, 19 S.
