Laurelville Police Department

Message from the Chief

I was appointed in September 2006 as Chief of Police for the Village of Laurelville. My goal as chief was to reorganize the department to better serve our community. The police department now has 100% backing from all council members and the mayor. The Village Council member's goal is the same as the police department to remain professional at all times in all circumstances.

In a day and age where community policing is the requirement in many towns across the United States, my belief as Chief is that a Manager is only as strong as his employees. Therefore all officers have been selected to serve the residents of Laurelville are ones that can excel in all aspects of law enforcement. My officers are the very best and professional in every manner.

One of the first things that we did was implemented a computer network in the village that would enable an officer to have all information available at their fingertips form the state of Ohio. All of our reports are recorded and reported to the state of Ohio for records through the Ohio law enforcement gateway and are available through a mobile network in the cruiser.

We have also remodeled the police station to better serve our community in ways that had not been thought would happen.

If you have any other idea's that you would help better serve the community stop by my office and share them with us, we would be glad to hear from you.

Sincerely,
Chief of Police, JT Taylor
