Established in 1995, the Columbus Regional Airport Authority (CRAA) Police Department started as a group of dedicated individuals and has since grown into a full-service, CALEA Accredited police department. CRAA Police Officers are responsible for the protection of life and property, prevention of crimes, and the preservation of peace and order within the Airports (Port Columbus International, Rickenbacker International, and Bolton Field) and surrounding areas. Officers patrol assigned areas while enforcing laws, ordinances, Federal Aviation Regulations, and Airport Authority Regulations; citing and/or arresting violators; investigating traffic crashes, crimes, and complaints; investigating aircraft incidents; obtaining and securing evidence; helping passengers; and performing any other duties as required.

Specialties: Narcotics Task Force Officers, K9 (narcotics, patrol, and explosive detection) handlers, Crime Scene Technicians/Detective Bureau Liaisons, Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Training Officers (Instructors), and Bicycle Patrol Officers.
