The Amsterdam Police Department is a six man strong department that consists of the Chief of Police, Sergeant, and four Patrolman. Their jurisdiction is a village consisting of 570 residents. The mission of the Department is to serve and protect the Village of Amsterdam and to make the village safe for its residents. We encourage all citizens to become involved.
