Operations/Training Sgt. RON SANDERS
Sgt Sanders has been a Sgt for the Oakland Police Dept for a little over one year. Sgt. Sanders has been in law enforcement since 1996. Prior to becoming a law enforcement officer he spent 4 years in the United States Army where he obtained several medals to include a combat infantry mans badge which he obtained while in Mogadishu Somalia where he spent over 10 hours in one of the most severe firefights since the Vietnam Era. Since becoming a police officer he has taken several classes to include SFST Instructor and Expandable Baton Instructor. Sgt. Sanders has also worked with the Harney County Narcotics Drug Task Force where he spent two years of his law enforcement career. Sgt. Sanders has been with the VA Police Department for almost 2 years where he continues to be a great asset to our department with his vast knowledge of law enforcement.

OFFICER DALE COUNTS
  • Officer Dale Counts in 1970 I started my Law enforcement career, Reserve Police officer for the City Of Coquille for one year. This is my work history from that date on. 35 years. 1971 I went to work for Myrtle Point Police Department and went the Oregon Police Academy Class #41 and Advances Police Academy in Oregon. 1973 I went to work for Gold Beach Oregon patrol officer. 1974 I went back to Coquille Police Department until July 1, 1983 while working for the Department I got my AA degree as SWOCC at Coos Bay Oregon. 1974 I was called back into the Army as a MP for the 463 MP company Fort Learned wood MO. Returned to Coquille Police Department full time 1 March 1977. 1983 I went to work Baldwin City, Baldwin Kansas Police Department and made the rank of Sgt. And was Acting Chief for last year. I went to the Kansas Police Academy. 1987 I went to work for Edgerton Kansas Police Department as a part time officer while working full time at Topeka Kansas VA Police. 1987 I transferred Roseburg VA hospital and I have been working and still here. I can retire on 12-13-2005 if I wish. 1987 I went to work for Oakland Police Department as a Reserve Police officer and still working ???


OFFICER PAUL BODENHAMER
  • Office Bodenhamer is one of the newest members of the Oakland Police Dept. Officer Bodenhamer has been a VA Police Officer for 1 year. Prior to being a VA Police Officer he was a Police Officer in the United States Air Force. Officer Bodenhamer has been assigned to a specialized bike patrol unit. He was also assigned to a Phoenix Raven unit, which does the same job as the Federal Air Marshal's only in the Air Force. Officer Bodenhamer has been through several Law Enforcement courses through out his career. Including SFST course, EVOT, L.E.B.A, Anti-terrorism course, verbal judo, self-defense, PPCT, Radar/Lidar, as well as others. Officer Bodenhamer was awarded the Accommodation medal for his time spent in Guam at Andersen AFB. He also started the bike rodeo sponsored by AAFES, and the Andersen AFB Police Dept. while in Guam, which taught kids how to be safe while riding there bicycles. It involved several ob stacle courses as well as verbal instructions. Officer Bodenhamer was involved in several top secret mission's in support of Iraqi Freedom.
