The Juniata Valley Regional Police serves and protects Petersburg Borough, Alexandria Borough,
and Porter Township in Huntingdon County Pennsylvania. Operating as a "part-time" police
department allows the department to economically provide professional law enforcement and protective
services to it's municipalities. The department currently employs a chief, sergeant, and 1 patrol
officer who have all completed certified police training and continually complete law enforcement
training throughout the year. The officer's yearly training consists of both mandatory training
and elective training so that they can serve the community at their very best. All officers
are members of the Huntingdon County Drug Task Force and the Huntingdon County DUI Task Force.
The department heavily focuses on it's principals of strong community oriented policing through
public relations, education, and highly visible patrols.
Officer's have a strong working relationship with all law enforcement agencies within Huntingdon County.
When called upon to do so, Regional officers assist other local municipalities and state police.
During times when Regional officers are not on-duty, state police at Huntingdon respond to
calls and patrol the area.
