The York Area Regional Police Dept. was formed in July of 2000 as a merger of two municipal departments. We cover 8 municipalities over an area of 80 square miles with a population of 46,000. We have 40 sworn officers and 5 civilians.
We have patrol, detectives, DARE, School Resource Officers, Advanced accident investigators, SERT team members, motorcycle patrol, forensic team members, bike patrol and Motor Carrier Enforcement.
We are accepting applications until April 21, 2003. No experience is required. We offer a FULL benefit package, starting pay at $34K increasing to $50K within 5 yrs. Retirement is at 25 yrs and at least age 50 at half pay.
