MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY OF THE DARBY BOROUGH POLICE DEPARTMENT
MISSION STATEMENT
The Mission of the Darby Borough Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in the Borough of Darby through the protection of life and property, the preservation of peace, the protection of individual rights and the reduction of fear of crime through the delivery of professional police service.
PHILOSOPHY
To accomplish this mission, the Darby Borough Police Department in cooperation with the community will:
Make the prevention of crime and disorder the primary objective of the agency.
Maintain the public trust and cooperation by fostering a model of policing predicated on community participation through a partnership of sharing and understanding.
Utilize available resources in the most effective and efficient manner to ensure the highest quality of service.
Involve representatives from every facet of the community in the process of community building respecting and reversing our diversity as a strength which can be used to our collective advantage.
Maintain the integrity and professionalism of the employees within the agency by adhering to the high standards established in the policies of the department and the foundations set forth in the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Provide a high quality of police service based on openness in communication, unity of purpose, effective problem solving through teamwork and constant attention to the improvement of quality.
