The mission of the Galena Polcie Department is to provide professional, prompt and courteous police services and protection to all persons in the service community. The Galena Police Department supports the Constitutional and civil rights of all persons without regard for race, gender, skin color, religion, age or socio-economic status.

This is accomplished by conformity with the highest standards of moral values, professionalism and competency. All members of the department adhere to the law enforcement code of ethics, city ordinances, state and federal laws.

Community oriented policing is the basis for services provided, by giving citizens quality police services that prevent crime, make resaidents feel safe and enhance quality of life.
