E-mail the Constable

County: Jefferson

Constables in Jefferson County Alabama are elected by Legislative Districts and are sworn in and verified by the Secretary of State. They serve 4 year terms as officers of the court in Jefferson County, Alabama (Birmingham, Alabama).

Constable Jeff Caddell served 16 years.

Constable Caddell no longer works as a court officer. As a public service, he has been working with citizens across the United States and the world, with law enforcement agencies and companies in exposing internet fraud in the area of entertainment memorabilia and star owned items.

Constable Caddell has been successful at investigating and exposing numerous individuals selling fake props, costumes and celebrity worn items on eBay.

"My passion is that I have been collecting items for an upcoming movie museum. I have been taken advantage of myself and I know how it feels. Plans are to open a museum for school kids to visit and learn real life lessons from the movies," says Caddell.

His devotion in seeing citizens find justice as victims and receive restitution from the perpetrators is a passion of his.

Caddell states: "Those that prey on others for their livelihood in defrauding victims are a much increasing occurrence on the internet. It is a shame to see these thieves and scam artists steal from people for their selfish needs in life."

The amount of internet fraud rose 21% in 2012 and on eBay alone, independent research says that number is much higher.

"Those that defraud are getting smarter and smarter. In the past they were unseen and only lurked behind computer screens to commit their crimes many times under false ID's," says Caddell.

He goes on to say that, "now we have instances of scam artists that are known in a certain community, take advantage and position themselves as a credible source, biographer or even an author while committing flagrant fraud out in the open.

As the legal system and law enforcement agencies are swamped with so many cases in the US these days, many of these defrauders get away with their crimes sometimes for a long time." "It takes a team of people with upmost energy and persistence in seeing that justice is served out for those harmed," says former Constable Caddell.

Caddell says that it is getting harder and harder to check the truth behind items sold to collectors from the entertainment business and alleged star worn items. He says that it is best to check all sources, make calls and not just rely on self-related internet postings from the seller of the items, websites, books that have been written or by COA's.

"These certificates of authenticity are many times not worth the paper that comes with an item," says Caddell.
He goes on to say, "Those evildoers will always lose in the long run, they go down kicking and screaming but GOOD ALWAYS WINS over evil."
