The Wichita Department of Veteran's Affairs Police serve both the VA medical center, and the Regional Office along with two outlying community based clinics. Currently our department is staffed with ten Police Officers and our Chief, Keith Nivens. All of our Officers are Federal Police Officers with concurent jurisdiction with the State of Kansas. Our newest additions to the department are K9's Argus and Peppy. K9 Argus is an explosives detection/ tracking dog, and K9 Peppy is our narcotics/ tracking dog. Both teams are available to local departments for mutual aid.
