The Georgetown Police Department consists of 50 full-time police officers and the Chief of Police. Currently there is one Patrol Captain and one Administrative Captain, four Lieutenants, eight Sergeants, six detectives and patrol officers.

The Police Department is organized into three main sections:

Juvenile Invesigations
Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit
K-9
Bike/Segway Patrol
Special Response Team

The department also has seven non-sworn staff, one safety officer and eight seasonal crossing guards.
