Oakland is a small town in the west central corner of Yalobusha County, Mississippi, flanked by Tallahatchie County to the west, with an estimated population of approximately 600.

The Department is currently undergoing restructuring and I was blessed to be chosen as its Chief, officially taking office on March 27, 2006.

Although the Department has its work cut out for it in the upcoming months, I believe we will weather the storm with the help of God and caring citizens.

I would also like to thank the Yalobusha County Sheriff Department and Coffeeville Police Department for their support, and look forward to our keeping a close working relationship.
