On Friday August 27, 2010 the Duryea police Dept. seized 18 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $35,000 on
Friday after being tipped off about a growth operation near the stone quarry behind the Stephenson Street Bridge.
Police found and removed the plants before anyone had an opportunity to package and sell them. They appeared to have been planted
and maintained this summer with potting soil and other materials.
An investigation into several leads is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the police department at
(570) 457-1721, ext. 2
