The Tupelo Airport Authority Police was created shortly after the September 11, 2001,
terrorist attacks on America. TRA Police Officers are supported on a federal grant by
the Transportation Security Administration and enforce the guidelines and protocols thereof
as well as the Federal Aviation Administration.
TRA Police Officers are commissioned under federal authority of TSA and FAA as well as the Tupelo
Airport Authority to enforce any misdemeanor and felony crime that shall occur on Tupelo Airport Authority property.
The TAA Police Department works proactively in cooperation with city, county, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
