Jurisdiction: The Akron Children's Department of Public Safety under the leadership of Jerome T. Klue, Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police, is comprised of three Divisions: the Division of Police, the Division of Technical Security, and the Division of Parking Services. Members of the Department serve with Integrity, Compassionate Service, Positive Attitude, and Teamwork.

The Division of Police is a full-service Police Department that works 24 hours-a-day, 365 days a year, providing excellence in police service to the Akron Children's community to create a safe and welcoming environment. Akron Children's Police Officers are fully commissioned by the State of Ohio and have law-enforcement authority identical to their municipal police counterparts.

All Officers receive annual in-service training, in addition to the state mandate Continuing Professional Training (CPTs).

In addition to traditional police response the Division provides courtesy services such as Battery Jumps, Vehicle Lockouts, and Safety Escorts.
