The Northern Cambria Borough Police Department was established January 1,2000 with the
consolidation of the Borough of Barnesboro and the Borough of Spangler. The department provides twenty hour
seven day a week police service.
On February 21st 2004 the Northern Cambria Borough Police Department was certified as an Accredited Police
Agency through the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. The department is the first department in
Cambria County to achieve this goal. The department is now working toward a CALEA Accreditation.
The department is staffed by four full time officers and six part time officers.
