The City of Fair Oaks Ranch is approximately 14 square miles and is located northwest of San Antonio and sits in Bexar, Kendall and Comal Counties. The City was established in January 1988. At that time the city had a Town Marshal and contracted for its police protection. The Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department was established by the City of Fair Oaks Ranch City Council in November 1992, with the department becoming operational on January 1, 1993.
