The Lockhart Police Department is a part time law enforcement agency with the responsibility to enforce the
laws of Alabama and local municipal ordinances.
Lockhart Police Department serves as a fully trained professional law enforcement agency. We have a multi-agency
contract with the Covington County Sheriff Office in situations when no Lockhart officers are present.
The Chief and other Lockhart officers are full time deputies from the Covington County Sheriff Office. This
makes smooth transition for all calls and reports taken by the Sheriff's Office to the Lockhart Police Department.
Lockhart Police serves as a professional law enforcement contact for locals as well as the traveling public.
We take our responsibility serious and will always remember, we work for you the public.
