Welcome from Eric S Plummer, Chief of Police
On behalf of the officers and student workers of the Southern Arkansas University Police Department,
I would like to welcome you to our website. Our staff endeavors to keep your time on campus safe and
enjoyable. One of our services available to you is this homepage. Whether you need to gather information
before your arrival or check out current activities once you're here, we want this site to be of value
to you.
The crime problem across our nation highlights the importance of being safe in our home and workplace.
Our officers here at Southern Arkansas University are state certified by the Arkansas Law Enforcement
Training Academy and possess full powers of arrest. Our officers continue to receive training after
certification to increase their expertise and professionalism. We have certified full-time officers,
certified part-time officers, a secretary, as well as student workers serving as dispatchers and
parking enforcement.
Our department is committed to the ideal of community policing and strives to maintain campus partnerships
to enhance the experiences of the students, faculty, staff, and visitors. The annual crime statistics
