The Jonesboro Police Department is a small agency comprised of 3 fulltime
officers and approx. 15-20 reserve officers.
The Jonesboro Police Department is typically a "One man show" operation with
one officer working during a shift rotation. That officer is the first responder to all
calls for service, responsible for any/all follow up investigation, crime scene investigaton,
public information duties, school resource duties, traffic officer duties, etc.
Because of the department's small staff and budget, officers must be well rounded,
adaptive, and able to meet the needs of the citizens of Jonesboro as a single unit.
The Jonesboro Police Department works in tandum with several surrounding law
enforcement agencies such as the Grant County Sheriff's Department, Faimount Police Department,
Marion Police Department, and the Gas City Police Department.
