About Us

The Heritage Creek Police Department is a full service law enforcement agency. Although the cities geographic boundaries are small in comparison to Louisville Metro, the officers on the police department carry their police powers throughout the county. Due to changes in legislation, Heritage Creek is now classified as a jurisdiction of second class city status and no longer considered a fifth class city status.

The Police Department consists of eleven sworn officers. Each officer on the force has attended law enforcement basic training through the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice. To maintain excellence in training, officers continue their professional education by attending 40 hours of annual in-service training through DOCJT.

Our police officers are certified by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council/POPS.

The department's internal Training Officers provide specialized training throughout the year.

Examples of this type of specialized training include: CPR/AED/Basic First Aid certification, Blood-borne pathogens, Firearms qualifications, O.C. Spray and RADAR certification to name a few. Officers qualify with all assigned weapons at our bi-annual firearms training.

In February 2016 HCPD received the coveted AAA Traffic Safety Award for 2015.

Over the years, our officers have been recognized for there outstanding work in Seat Belt and DUI Enforcement.
