The Police Department has just installed a new 911-EP Galaxy LED
lightbar on Squad 102 K-9 Unit. The department has also installed an
automatic door opener, so the handler can remotely open the door for K-9
Crux from a distance of 1,000 feet. This is to ensure that Officer Lang has
access to the dog whenever he needs it without having to be near the squad
car.
The Blooming Prairie Police Department had a great 4th of July this
year. The department responded to a multitude of calls that kept them
plenty busy. This year the department was lucky to have the Freeborn County
Sheriff's Office, Steele County Sheriff's Office, and the Owatonna Police
Department help out with city protection due to the amount of people that
come to the city for the celebration.
The Blooming Prairie Police Department would like to thank Freeborn
County Sheriff Mark Harig, Steele County Sheriff Gary Ringhofer, and
Owatonna Police Chief Shaun LaDue for their assistance during the busy
weekend. We appreciate all your support in helping to keep our community
safe.
