The Town of Matthews is located in the Piedmont region of North Carolina, where we
border the City of Charlotte. Our department consists of 70 employees, including 56 sworn officers
and a full-service Communications Center.
The employees serving our four divisions work hand in hand to protect our citizens and to deliver
the highest level of service possible to our community. While our staff work eight to twelve hour
shifts, many still volunteer to assist organizations like MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving)
and SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving) as well as our Police Explorers Post and our
"Lunch Buddies" Program in our local elementary schools.
