The Amtrak Police Department is a nation-wide Law Enforcment Agency with over 300 sworn members.
Created by Congress in the early 1970's, The Amtrak Police Department is responsible for investigating
crimes committed on or against Amtrak.
Amtrak Police Officers are fully-commissioned and sworn Police Officers. Amtrak Police Officers
are generally commissioned by the Governor of the State in which we work.
