Hello my name is Lt. David Hernandez, I was blessed by graduating the police academy in August of 1992. I began my career in October of 1992 with the La Feria Police Department. I have lived in this fine city since December of 2005. I have been employed with the Progreso Police Department since January of 2000. My mission is simple to protect and to serve you the community with much respect. I have an open door policy if you have any concerns please feel free to call or come by the police department. I am looking forward to the new safety building. The new safety building will be fully equipped which is much needed for the police department and city. Much respect and I leave you with two quotes, "The police are the public and the public are the police; the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of the community, welfare and existence."
